Since 1995, Ophira Edut has lectured at colleges and conferences nationwide. She's covered everything from body image to media-making, women to websites. Below are two of her most popular presentations:

BODY IMAGE
Ophira discusses why body image is a multicultural health issue, sharing stories from her anthology Body Outlaws and her multicultural magazine HUES. Encouraging audiences to love themselves through thick and thin, Ophira explores such questions as: What is healthy body image? How does body image affect different cultures? Where's the balance between fitness and fanaticism? Ophira discusses what it takes to fee free and at home in our bodies, and to create beauty on our own terms, rather than by the unrealistic images dicatated to us.

MEDIA ACTIVISM
In an age where "image is everything," how can we use the media as a took, instead of being used as tools of the media? Drawing on a decade of independent magazine, book and online publishing, Ophira inspires audiences to be conscious media consumers, and to make their own images. She shares experiences from transforming her multicultural women's magazine HUES from a college magazine into a full-color glossy newsstand magazine, and from owning her design agency, Mediarology.
